is the thermostat in my car 2 pieces?

i.e. the housing and the actual thermostat

my housing is made of metal not plastic so im guessing its 2 parts and can be bought separately

It'll be tight but possible.

First time I removed mine is when the engine was out. Go careful though as if you end up snapping a bolt then you may have to remove a whole lot more:silly

well got it done without removing the fan, it wasnt the easiest but with a couple extension bars i managed it

would have been easier if i had the hands of a borrower and 3 elbows lol

now i have hot air in the car and the temp needle now sits dead in the center and not always on the blue
