is it poss to overhaul the valve guide seals with head in place.
got sml smoke on start up which indicates to me perished seals.bores and rings are fine as its only on initial start up.
its for my 320i 92 M50.

It is possible but will be a pig to do, you will need something to hold the valves closed while you remove the collets e.t.c, compressed air down the spark plug hole may prove to be a pain, especially if you break the "compression" seal and the valve drops :eek

You could attempt the old boy way of putting string down the cylinder bore and turning the engine over till it squashes it against the valve :hihi
