I'm now thinking of a 2.5 conversion for my E36 318is and i was wondering what sort of price i'm looking at and what I need (engine mounts ect)?
Also a BMW scrapyard in the east anglia area would be really handy.

I'd go for a 328 engine personally, with 500 or so spent on it you'd have a 230+ bhp beast.

An engine will set you back between 500 -800, try to get one from either a car being broken (so you can hear it running) or a breakers that will give you a 2 or 3 month guarantee.

You'll want the manifolds, exhaust, induction parts and EWS etc so you're looking at a budget of 1500 -2k (at least).

Still, much cheaper than trying to get 200 bhp from your 318 engine. :thumbsup

Early 325i are dirt cheap and with non EWS would be a easier conversion,
I would buy a complete car and you have everything to hand then.

As said 2.8 would be nice .Just make sure you get everything.
