i could smell petrol from my exhaust today and got a kind of misfire , it sounds like the engine has had race cams fitted or iv fitted chevvy engine it sounds nice but i was concerned about the smell and the car rocking at idle , so i went to a garage and went on the co machine and they are telling me that the car is running on pure petrol without air , it is a straight 6 2.0l e30 does anybody know what the problem could be as i know if i put it in the garage for repair i will need a second mortgage cheers :thumbsup

As for the emissions, the first thing to check is the induction system and engine breathers/vacuum pipes for splits e.t.c

Also how old is the Lambda sensor?
