My BMW E30 325i car developed a starter problem. We tried to push start it and it failed to respond. However, when we tried a tow start is responded and idling was normal. It tries to respond to a push start but does not come up.Why does it not respond to a push start? Help!

Tow starting will spin the engine faster and create more compression than push starting. Is your battery good?

thanx 4 responding Billy. I tried the battery on a nissan pickup truck, and it worked fine. I also tried a different battery, and still no luck.

Could be that you need a new fuel pump relay,common for these to go....

Needs the holding fuel pressure checked from the sounds of it.

Crank or cam sensor (if it has one ? ) the bmw engines i think has to turn at a certain rpm before starting..
