hi

my 535i se has little power iv just bought it
it doesnt miss or anything bad jut no power

is there any way to do the paper clip test the same as you would do on a vauxhall to find faults

iv read a couple of people have had simmilar probs some say could be throtle body (mines fly by wire)

or air flow meter

you need to get your fault codes read if applicable as a starting point.

On cars of this age its not 1 component, but a number of components that are ageing that contribute to such drops in power.

- fouled injectors and worn injector seals (manual strip, clean and new 0-rings required)
- intermittent fuel pump relay
- ageing 02 sensors (if you car has them) will altering MAF and fueling
- worn camshaft sensors
- worn crankshaft sensor

A lot of the above parts won't throw fault codes or fail outright, but will not be working as efficiently contributing to the issue you have.
