Hi,

So I bought this 151 multipurpose silicone sealant as it was a small tube of silicone which I possibly mis-read when buying it as I presumed was the same as silicone glue, so I can glue onto my car the side trims which keep on coming off during the mechanical car wash since the rubber bits I bought do not hold them on for some reason, and now when I look at the instructions it says on the back ""sealant releases acetic acid on curing so do not use on marble of any other acid-sensitive materials such as silver, copper, brass, lead or steel. " Does this mean it may not stick to the car and even cause damage to the paint under the trim and therefore create an erosion problem?

Don't think it will damage the paintwork but i never had much luck with it for that type of job.
Try it and put plenty on it might hold for you.

Unless both surfaces are clean, dry, grease, wax and silicone 'trim shine' free, even the best adhesive won't stick

Like painting - it's all in the prep!
