What's the easiest upgrade for the front brakes?

I'd like to stay OEM so what callipers will fit the 120d and what sort of costs?

(with VAG's to upgrade 288's to 312's all you need is carriers and discs)

How easy is it to add 130M brakes?

Have you considered uprating the front and rear discs and brake pads?

I was absolutely amazed at the difference when I replaced mine for EBC Grooved Discs and Greenstuff pads

pads are ok at minute - i was thinking down the lines of bigger front brakes
ones that fill the wheels better.

will 130M ones fit? What are alternatives?

I would suggest firstly changing to some good pads AND a high quality race brake fluid.

It makes a massive difference..... demon tweaks.co.uk will sell them I would imagine.

no one thinks of brake fluid as an upgrade but it can be a big cause of brake fade and a quality race fluid has a much higher boiling point and will dish out powerful braking for much longer periods (eg/ track days)

If you really want to upgrade then I would guess the 1 series 130i M sport calipers may fit although you would need to check this.

Worst case scenario a decent engineer could make up an adapter plate for them.

Would be much cheaper than going the brembo route...

are you doing it just for looks? Unless you'll be doing track days etc i wouldnt bother with fitting a 130 set up. i cant see there being many sets up for sale anyway. braided lines, decent fluid and a decent set of pads on standard discs is a better set up than many aftermarket set ups and will be fine for fast road drivin and track days and be much cheaper initially and in replacing once they are worn

brakes are ok it was more to fill the wheels.
Even a set of drilled discs and pads won't be cheap.

One site is showing it at £240 delivered.

are these grooved and drilled discs really worth the money?

I know if I want good brakes I have to spend money on decent pads.

Has anyone used EBC Red stuff? Any comments?
What about Ferodo DS2500?

i've been digging about and hub carrier is same as
E81, E87LCI, E90, E91, E92, E93

so brake callipers from any of them will fit....i think
what i don't know is the disks

thay have an odd offset height - 73mm !!

Shouldn't - Piston is same size. Main differences are pad shape and carrier

Besides the obvious disc size.

are they not even bigger than 330mm?
I'm after fronts only TBH. My rears are already 300mm and vented.
