whineing

Hi i have a 97 318is with 100k and its started to make a funny whining noise! i think it maybe the power stearing pump maybe? would this sound about right? it is not all the time but is doing it more and more!

hi all,i am a newcomer to so not so sure how serious my problem is.I have a e39 535i automatic/tiptronic which has started to make whining noises when changing gears.Can anybody advise my next move? thanks.
