Does driving with almost worn shocks and struts put more wear on the other suspension parts, besides experiencing crappy ride quality?

Time to replace rear shocks, what quality brand would be suitable I'm on standard sport suspension and don't want to go down the coilovers route etc. Just after standard shocks and preferably best place to source them .
