  1. Long Crank but instant on "Stop/Start"

BMW 1 Series - Tech Talk For All Gen Of 1 Series
Hi My 2008 E88 has a long crank. Starts nearer the end of the first start cycle - may be two seconds (seems like long time...). It does, however, start instantly when the auto stop/start system is in use (ie when I forget to turn it off). The Vanos things have been cleaned (they weren't...

Hello guys I have a BMW E91 330d that suffers with long crank and rought start when cold outside. No fault codes. 6 new glowplugs, new glow plug relay and new cable to relay. Car starts with no issue when warm, and when warmer outside. Where do I start?
  3. A few long term issues sorted!

BMW 8 Series Forum - Technical Talk on the BMW E31
Just thought I’d post an update on a few problems I’ve had with the car since I bought it nearly 2 years ago... and have now banished forever! First was a squeaking noise which would develop into a screech as the car warmed up. Could only hear it in slow moving traffic. The pitch of the noise...
  4. Battery long time charge

    Auto Electrical Forum
Might sound daft but i bought a Yuasa battery for my 30d x5 just over 2 years ago. Turned out it wasn't needed so it has been sat on the bench in my shed connected to a ctek mxs 5.0 charger ever since. Does anybody think this battery will still be any good as i need one for my e90 2.0d. Any...
  5. Idle fluctuation and long crank issue only when slight warm

BMW 5 Series - Tech Talk For All Gen Of 5 Series
So it goes like this, and the car is a 530d Automatic 2005: 1. When the car is dead cold, even at -16 C, starts perfectly, idle is steady, crank is super short, basically, everything works perfect. 2. Now, after I drive like 7km, so the engine gets barely warmed up, all the troubles start, as...
  6. Long time lurker!

Hi there, Just signed up to the forum thought it would be rude to not say hello! Been browsing the forum for a few years as I've had a few BMW's now (e46 316se, e46 330ci) and I've just picked up a new (to me) e36 318is in Hellrot red with FSH! Seems in great nick with only 81k. Needs a few...
  7. e9x diesel - Long term owners of remapped cars, how's your car doing?

BMW 3 Series - Tech Talk For All Gen Of 3 Series
After getting my new car de-mapped (it turns out the remap my car (unknowingly at the time!) came with (by Performance Direct of Barnsley), was the cause of the cold running issues, white smoke, misfiring & hunting for the 1st few minutes of idling. It's not done that since their remap has gone...
