Hello, I have had my brand new car now for 6 weeks and it has now done a grand total of 500 miles. According to the on board computer I am getting 25.2 miles to the gallon.
This does seem rather low and was just wondering if with time and more miles on the clock this will improve.
My car is a 316i se automatic (2003) with the 1.8 litre N42 petrol engine.
I did the following fuel consumption test to see if the car was running ok. It gave me 59 mile per gallon.
So I know the car is working properly.
Mileage on my car 64000.

I was just wondering how many miles per gallon people are getting from there 320i.
I do alot of miles around town and the occassional 80 mile round trip to Oxford from Milton Keynes. My average around town is about 23 MPG on longer runs about 33 MPG.

Just wondering what you folks are getting out of a full tank or per gallon ?
Typically I'm getting the following.
Cold runs locally = 25-30 mpg
Round town = 30-35 mpg
On the motoryway, 80 ish = 40-43 mpg.
