full closure upon locking

Hi everyone i am new, nice to meet you all! I have a problem. My 318is came with a "HiSec"single button fob, and it doesn't seem working very well. there is a little dial thingy inside, anybody know what it is and how it works!? in the car there a PHILIPS PH805 which i think is the alarm...
