hi fal. just loaded up ncs and got my fa string.
    E46_#0901&N6SW%0354|7789416|7518490*ER92$205$210$2 26$249$302$338$428$431$441$481$502$508$521$534$661 $672$710$716$760$772$775$785$789$812$850$863$877$8 80
but for the world of me i cant get my car to load up the full chassis no.
it just loads up the last 7 digits. so even if you calculate what part of the string i need to delete to stop sss looking for my rad im gonna have to get ncs up and running properly first.
my question is.... does ncs work straight out of the box, or do you have to configure it to your car. ie. updating daten and all that.
if so, can you give me a walk through on how to get ncs up and running.
    thanks in advance.

but when i load up ncs it doesent read all my chassis no. only the last 7 digits. so if you calculate what i need to delete from my fa string, i dont think ncs is working properly. does ncs work straight out of the box or do you have to configure it to your car first. ie. daten files and all that.
if so can you give me a walkthrough on how to do it.
    thanks in advance.

It depends what install package you used. Let's try it without updating first and see how you get on.

    1. Connect your laptop to the car again and go to C:\NCSEXPER\BIN.
    2. Now run the program NCSEXPER.
    3. Now go to File, Load Profile and choose EXPERTENMODUS.
    4. Now choose F1 VIN/ZCS/FA.
    5. Now choose F1 ZCS/FA f. ECU.
    6. Select E46.
    7. Select AKMB or ALSZ.
    8. Select F6 Back.
    9. Select F2 Enter FA.
    10. Select E46.
    11. Accepet the VIN but do not tick the calculate checksum box.
    12. Scroll through the list and click on $661, click the delete button on your keyboard and click OK.
    13. Select F6 Back.
    14. Select F4 Process ECU.
    15. Select AKMB.
    16. Select F2 Change Job.
    17. Select FA Write.
    18. Select F3 Execute Job.
    19. Select F1 Change ECU.

Go through the process again, but this time select and process the ALSZ.
