    Hi Everyone,

Very new to the forum, but think I have found the correct location to post, if not mod please move to correct place!

I have recently installed the diag software, running on XP SP3, 32bit, with VMware 6.x.x, DIS, SSS INPA and TIS all installed and working perfectly (took me a while I admit!) It has been brilliant so far and is working like a charm.

However I changed my headunit to an alpine aftermarket, with the apline converter for the steering wheel. Since I have done this, when I load SSS to reprogram any of the ECUs (for such things like lock at drive away) I get an error which stats that SSS can't communicate with "RAD" I used DIS to confirm that RAD is for the radio comms, so it all kind of makes sense why SSS has trouble seeing it.

The problem I have is this then stops me being able to do anything with the other options, as it haults the software from continuing.

Is there a way I can bypass the scan or make the software believe it can see the RAD or stop it from looking for RAD?... or is it a case of throwing the old HU back in while I do the changes - please lord no!

    Any help would be great.

That is a shame, looks like the glove box will have to come out again - I forgot to mention that I have this meaning the old cables and neatly tied behind the glove box.

Still, it is my own fault, should have twigged after SSS turns on your stereo during the scan. Still once I have done what I need to do I shouldn't need to do it again for a while.

    Thanks for your help.

    +thanks

Cool I turned mine off lol
Only other thing I had to do was attach a battery charger to keep the volts over 14

I can help you with this.

    1. Connect your laptop to the car again and go to C:\NCSEXPER\BIN.
    2. Now run the program NCSEXPER.
    3. Now go to File > Load Profile and choose the Code control unit, allow ZCS reading.
    4. Now choose F1 VIN/ZCS/FA.
    5. Now choose F1 ZCS/FA f. ECU.
    6. Select E46.
    7. Select AKMB or ALSZ.
    8. Once this has completed, you should see your FA string appear on the program screen. Now you can exit the program.

Go to C:\NCSEXPER\WORK and open FA.TRC with Windows Notepad. Copy and paste the string here on the forum, and then i can calculate what you need to remove...

Hi fal. I'm in the exact predicament. So what your saying is that if I paste my trc file on here, will you be able to Show me what to remove from my vo to stop SSS looking for my original radio and get it working. If so that'll be great. As I'm not up for changing my head unit either. Thanks
