Yes m8, my DSC also dont work i will keep looking, i have been told the fault codes are the same in the Bentley manuals, which i have, but it only covers engine and transmission codes.

Code 28 is Additive mixture adaptation, bank 1, control limit reached. Could be air leak after MAF or before O2 sensor.

Code 29 is Additive mixture adaptation, bank 2, control limit reached. See above.

Code 140 is Activation Map cooling. Could be thermostat problem or sensor problem.

Could the 140 fault cause the 28 and 29 faults, because they all come up at the same time, I reset dme, then after a few days the same three faults re-appear, just wondering if the dme was getting the wrong info from the thermostat it could cause faults 28 and 29 any opinions on this.

    Thanks in advance Mike

I have a 1999 735i with the same 2 faults coming up (28 + 29), i also have fault code 141 which is cooling fan activation, i doubt very much that fault 140 is causing the other 2 faults, first check the air intake pipe into the air mass sensor as they split, also i will be checking next the air diaprahm on the back of the inlet manifold as they split and suck unmetered air into the engine, i will let you know when i look at it next
