    1 where is the obd 2 port located on a 2006 5 series m sport

    2 will a obd 2 reader tell me the coolent temp on a test drive without going into hidden menu

    Yes, it should get the data for you.
    The cable or interface shouldn't have any problems although you'd want the software that can read the data.

    An OBD2 fault code reader probably won't tell you that, but something like the Torque app for Android might.
