hi guys having bit of a problem with a key on my E46. yesterday one of my keys never worked ak90 would pick the info up from the key but car wouldn't start, cut story short reprogrammed key few times only to find what the problem was ,was the id44 chip had slipped into differnet place so wasn't being picked up by the car. now today my real bmw key wont work. now what i think has happened is i programmed the spare key to the same key number as the real key meaning the rolling keys are out of sync with the real key. in live report on bmw scanner 1.4 its saying status random code ( wrong random code ) and status DMER DDE ( blocked ) does anyone know what i can do to get key working again ? can i reset random code ? the DMER DDE blocked is this key blocked ? as i have enabled it with ak90 and bmw 1.4. know someone will know . now i know i can reprogram a new id44 and disable the chip in the key but will only do this if i really have to.

You can only use one slot per key, so just reprogram the EWS MCU as that keynumber as unused.

Key A and B are on the same slot, and fighting each other on the rolling codes.

the key thats not working is a real bmw key, key 4 with ak90 and bmw 1.4 says its key 3 this key has the chip 10034a and one i may have programmed to the same as the real key is an id44 chip so easy to change which i have. have unused the key slot and then renabled it but has no change. i know the 10034a chips cant be written on unless its blank, but ews can be written on. TheEnd glad you have see my post as i know you know a lot about ews.

I don't think you can rewrite the ID44's either, only certain chips and that needs a different keymaker.
AK90 can just handle some of the key data, not the "44" ID code and other bits.
