    I'm stuck!

I have installed DIS and connected it to the car fine, no problems all working at the moment.

But I now need to install SSS and I don't know where to start???

Can anyone help meeee!! I think I need to make another virtual machine? But I don't know how to set it all up correctly...

You need a new virtual machine that is XP based, the DIS VM is Linux or something.

Follow the instruction word doc thats on the discs.

SSS should have been extracted at the same time as DIS so all you should have to do is run it on the existing VM,

Edit:-just read Enda's post above so is it running on XP or Win7 os lappy?

Even if you are on XP, you need an XP VM (or at least that is how the story goes) as it needs to match the specs of the original BMW SSS PC.

I'm on Win 7 on lappy...

Edit: I've had DIS up and runnning no problem, but I don't know how to run SSS

    *******************
    For SSS

Run diaghead and IFHR like DIS.

Go to VMware and add the SSS machines like you did for DIS.

double click on "Windows XP Professional.vmx". Select and open "CD-ROM (IDE 1:0)" is on the right side. Choose "Legacy emulation" and press OK.

    Select I moved it.

Press play (green button) and (SSS) Program V57 is loading on full screen (it may take a few minutes). When your screen displays a BMW 6 series the program is loaded. To connect choose "New session" Click on the interface image and "Next". Now input session name (any name) and make your way.

To exit, end your session then go to "Administration" then "Settings" click on the green corner then choose "Operating status" and "Switch off". Wait until it closes. Now you can close VMware.

    Good Luck

FOR SSS IF YOU GET AN OPPS ICOM ERROR , THEN GO TO THE OPPS ICOM ERROR FOLDER ON MY DVD I HAVE SENT YOU !

    *************

It's the bold line I'm upto and stuck on!

    Ok... Update.

    Uninstalled and reinstalled everything.

I have both of the machines available in VM.

When I launch SSS it comes on to XP loading screen and freezes. Won't load past it at all.

On DIS, it comes on but won't connect to the car. Neither will INPA. I've installed everything correctly to the instructions too :/

SlowTech Simon, thanks for your remote help earlier! Even if we didn't manage lol

If INPA isn't connecting to the car then DIS won't either which would suggest maybe a port setting or the like? what error does INPA throw up when its not connecting?

The SSS freezing when the XP VM is loading has me flummoxed and as you know this sw all works fine on my similar machine.

If you can spare the lappy for a couple of days I can try installing direct from the disc?

can you setup up vmware to boot at startup? I am having similar problems with sss (or xp) starting to load up and then freezing. Not sure if I need to alter the memory settings in vmware.

dazparki; did you manage to get yours working?
