Not used it for much to be honest, just what I put above (airbag fault detection and clear) which worked fine.

Seems to be fairly complete in terms of code reading and clearing but not as easy as something like carsoft. you really need to know the rough area where the fault might lie as there isn't a button for reading all the fault codes from all the modules at once (well not from what I can see), you need to read and clear them individually.

I am currently looking to get INPA working. Am I right in thinking that to get the VAG-COM cable working I have to short pins 7 & 8 on the plug?

That is great to know how to change the port :

My old laptop I had INPA on is f**&Ed at the moment and trying to get an affordable one with an RS232 port is almost impossible, I might try an RS232 port adapter on my daughters laptop and change the port settings and see if it works.

There is a quick test setting on there, from memory hit <shift> + F1 to change editor and a new menu appears where a quick test and quick delete are listed.

If it is not there try F9 special tests.

I'm yet to try the obd.ini fix with the com port but just wondering if i need the black box as well. Does anyone know ? Thanks.

Hi guys, I have bought the correct EDIBAS cable and a usb > serial converter and got this all installed. Strangely I am finding that the battery and ignition indicators are on as soon as I connect the car, but as soon as I turn the key to ignition the ignition indicator goes off?

I then get 'Interface disturbed' errors when I try to access anything.

Any idea why this might be?

I don't know the full details, but i have seen mention of that before.
What you might need is a program called mprog3.5 which can swap the outputs of the FTDI chip in the unit.

Well, I seem to have cracked it at last!

Reading many other forum posts someone mentioned that there can be issues with USB > Serial converters - so I rigged up my desktop PC on the drive to use its direct serial port and it worked stratight away without any messing around at all! Perhaps I should try a different converter for the laptop
