    Hi folks

Recently acquired my first BMW (2003 530d Auto 120kmls). Have had a lot of cars and this is my favourite so far. Just getting to know the car and would love to get another 80-100kmlas/3-4 years life out of her.
One of my main decisions is whether to change the tranny oil. I’ve read a lot of opinions on the pros and cons of doing it at this mileage…..thinking that the pros are outweighing the cons.

Starting to get to use INPA/DIS/SSS software and was able to reset service light and get the daytime running lights operating. I am having one problem though…..INPA doesn’t seem to recognise my auto gearbox. I’m sure it’s a GM A5S390R but INPA is seeing a GS20 which is from an E36….not sure why that is….but still gives analogue readings. There is a reading there that I would love to know its relevance. It’s a reading called “Oil Ageing” and gives a % reading. Mine is at 80%

I’ve looked around the internet but can only find a couple of people asking the same question….but no explanation……Anybody know what this is indicating?

    Thanks
    Paul

il have a wild stab and say the oil ageing is prolly a viscosity sensor which checks the thickness and quality of the oil...

just a guess mind but viscosity and oil quality go hand in hand...
330i sport a big chunk of berlin...

    Thanks dailydoggy.

It would be great if that was the case as it means the oil isn't completely fu"£$d.
