Hi,just bought one of these BMW specific cables from Ebay, wanting to run INPA,NCS etc etc.Tried to get the system working with the discs supplied,no luck.
Then tried the sticky made by dd on here, still no luck.
My laptop is running windows 7, 64bit.
Anyone in the south essex area that could help me install these programs, dont mind paying for the help,as long as its cheaper than throwing my laptop up against the wall
I also got a 200 year old Dell c600 laptop,20gb hd and running xp,would i be better off trying to run the programs on this ?

    Cheers

I have managed to get INPA working on Windows 7 Professional 32 bit but not on 64 bit. My recommendation is that you try with Windows XP on a laptop with a built-in serial port, as I ran on that system successfully for a couple of years...

I am running the INPA on an old pc, running windows 7 64 bit, I had to get help from Folks on here.
FAL and TheEnd are the guys that helped me.
I know this works on W764 as I needed to reset a couple of things to allow me to pass my MOT.
I am sure if you were to request some help from them, they may be able to help you out.
    My cable is also USB.
Hope this points you in the right direction.

Your car details show that you've got an E36, so i guess this is what you want to work on? I don't know the tech' spec' on the C600, but if it has an RS232 Serial Port, then "yes" use this, as your E36 will require an ADS (Active Diagnostic Socket) interface.
