Right i've tried 3 versions of inpa, non when loaded give me the option to start obdsetup.exe from hardware. When i open c:ediabas/hardware the only option is ads.setup.
Is this significant? perhaps my lead is duff?is there a way to test,it lights up when plugged in.

No folder at all called OBD,i ran checks for files/checked file directories nothing found.
Until i find a version that gives me the option to run obd.exe instead of ads i'm stumped.
On a more positive note, today i've done an oil/filter change and fitted my new hids all is not lost, lol.

AFAIK if you have USB type interface cable it will not work in ADS mode it has to be in OBD mode...

your INPA software maybe default loading in available ADS mode only (older smaller version)..

ADS mode it will talk to all the car systems on any age of car 20 round pin or OBD2, but it has to be serial double kline interface aswell to access the lot for later cars and before 2007...

still learning myself so its not gospel but so far its wot ive read about INPA and mine works fine on ADS with a double kkline serial interface OBD2..
330i sport a big chunk of berlin...

When i edit the ediabas.ini,to std:obd and boot inpa.I get an error telling me run obdsetup.exe,to which i aint got the option as it aint within the files. If i leave it as ads,i get no error message.

I'm out at the moment but I'll see if I can dig out some known working good files for you when I get back.

There's a known working version linked to from here.

    http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...how-to-t68587/

I suspect the problem you have is Inpa is configured to try to use the wrong interface, running obdsetup and modifying the OBD.ini file should hopefully do it.
