Right i've managed to install the software,i'm using a netbook and when i get the lead i'll be using usb to connect.
When i start the program it boots and running in green can be seen bottom left, yet i keep getting create file error?
Is this because i have not got the lead connected yet?i successfullly created the file path when installing.
I've searched in here and not found much, gonna try google later, any help much appreciated.

    1.9 Createfile_error: OPEN CONNECTION; IFH 0018- INITIALIZATION
    ERROR
    ADS Interface:
The following error appears when Ediabas is started: Createfile_error: OPEN
    CONNECTION
    OBD Interface:
The following error appears when Ediabas is started: Error 28: IFH 0018- INITIALIZATION
    ERROR. (Also see Section 3.3)
Reason: Ediabas is attempting to access port COM1. However, the port doesn't exist, or it
has been taken by another programme (e.g. HotSync from Palm, infrared).
Solution: Install a COM1 interface or free it.

Found the above as suggested COM1,plus the fact i aint got no cable to connect,so the program is'nt seeing anything at COM1

You'd get "data transmission to interface disturbed" if you tried to scan something without a lead in.

Thats stumped me even further, the netbook aint got any Com ports, suppose i'm best waiting for lead, setting drivers and take it from there.

Or is the error something i've not set correctly when installing?

When you get the lead, it should create a virtual com port.
When that is done, it should work.

Right got the lead, loaded drivers, set it to com port 1,'create file' error gone when booting with lead not connected to car.

When connecting to car i get ifh 0009 no response from control unit?

Been searching, found stuff about editing obd.ini unfortunately i aint got this file anywhere on pc,ignition is also set to pos 1 still same response.

Try scanning a few other modules and see if one will talk.
There might also be an help PDF or user manual in the install folders which lists the different errors and will give you some troubleshooting tips.
