I've tried installing inpa but keep failing right at the last stage.
I've done everything as described in these instructions (which is also the same as instructions given to me by the cable supplier)
At the last stage where I check 'delete ncs' and then press install I keep getting "fatal error 58, file already exists, installation will be cancelled" or something along those lines.
I'm using Vista but have ticked 'xp compatibility mode'
Followed all the steps and even reinstalled it, but same error.
I've emailed the people I got my cable from and awaiting their reply.
I've used their disc rather than downloading inpa. Could it be that?
    Any help will be appreciated

<quote> However, it seems that Vista does not have the same menus or options as the older XP under "my computer" "property..." tabs and so on, and in the IT world it has moved on a bit in terms of OS. There is no "environmental variables" tab in Vista, or "path option" to chose and save to. <quote>

It has variables. I installed the software last night on Vista (after about 3 hours and 3 beers).
Right click on 'My Computer' either on your desktop or start menu.

Left click on 'properties' at the bottom

Left click on 'advanced system settings' on the left hand side

System properties loads up, and 'Environment variables' is at the bottom. Left click on it

Scroll down 'system variables' in the bottom pane until you reach 'path'

Left click it and highlight it, and click edit.

    change the path and save.

Mine shows correctly. I can double click the software to launch it on my Vista laptop - it all looks ok, but i'm waiting delivery of the cable in the next day or two to try it on my 2004 320D ES auto.

    Fingers crossed.....

    Regards

Does anyone ever manage to run INPA on Vista, or do you all have old rat-laptops you hold onto just for this purpose and reading codes on BMWs?[/QUOTE]

i installed it perfectly last time and could connect to almost every module.

new laptop so installed it on this and first time could connect to everything but now that i removed it and tried connecting to module, it says ifh-006 or ifh-009 error and only connects to the engine. (even still says malfunction possible versions do not match) engine module allows me to do everything to it.

Ive tried lots of things butsame problem still exists, any suggestions?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows where i can find the OBDSETUP.EXE and accompaning files for OBD installation on INPA. Unfortunately the cd that came with my cables only contained the ADS cable hardware drivers for INPA. In the hardware folder there is only an ADS folder and no OBD.

If possible could someone either give me a link to where i can find this driver or maybe zip up the obd folder and email it to me as I m pretty sure if i had that it would work with my version.

    Thank you
