Hi, looking for some friendly advice about which diagnostic software and cable to get to use on my 2006 330d. I already have a launch x431 but want to be able to do module coding and small changes similar to those done in the audi vagcom/vcds software.

Can anyone advise which ones to go for
    many thanks

For coding control modules on E9x's, i use a software tool called NCS (New Coding System). It allows you to read off and create a .trc (trace file), of either a single module or a complete vehicle. I then make the changes i want and load in the new file. The learning-curve for it can be quite steep, but it is the most powerfull coding tool available for your car. I've attached a FSW_PSW file (a complete trace of a whole vehicle) from a 2008 E92 M3, just to show you an example.

If this is of interest to you, i'm happy to explain in more detail...
