hi guys,my first post here.i own a pre september 01 320d 136bhp.now i have all diagnostic software up and running on laptop i.e inpa, dis, ect ect.i have noticed i have a tamper dot in the dash which i had no idea what it was until recently, anyway inpa showed up a different vin on the module and i presume thats the culprit of my tamper dot,the vin turned out to be off a 318i.what im asking is for very very detailed instructions on what software to use and how to use it to correct that issue with my lcm.

Flashing is when you change the software within the module, and coding is when you change the behaviour of the software within the module. In your case, you could start by just changing the VIN and seeing the result.

I would use Tool Set 32 (You'll find it in C:\Ediabas\Bin). You shouldn't need a power supply for a quick job like that.
