    hi,
    eml light came on today plugged it in to mate,s diagnostic and came up with the following. p0015 camshaft pos actuator B bank 1 timing over retard.
    p1159 feul trim adaptation additive bank 1 high. i have just had rocker cover gasket replaced but still have an oil leak from some wear could it be anything to do with that could anybody shed any light on it.

    smells like the sticking exhaust vanos fault...


    plus vacuum leaks for the fuel trim fault and prolly summat the garage has done or not done changing the gasket..
    330i sport a big chunk of berlin...

    bin a few cases of the vanos unit sticking on the exhaust side of the engine it can invoke a bad rattle aswell from the timing chain too.. its not a very DIY friendly engine unfortunately and they can be a bit of a horror story...

    if your not conversant with these engines relistically your at the mercy of a garage, all i can say it take it to a reputable BMW indy garage not a joe bloggs garage these engines require specialist knowledge from ppl who work on them regular..

    a BMW code scan might shed more light on the problems better than a generic OBD code scan...
