I purchased this set of leads to run on my newer laptop that has no serial port.

Load everything up as per the instructions and then tested INPA. INPA worked fine and after following the instructions having problems with the DIS v57, with respect that the diaghead configuration screen no free diagnstic head found. Did some searching on here and the internet in general.

What I found was that when changing the EBIABAS.INI file IP Address to the one in the 55 page document (192.168.68.1) did not work, changing it to 192.168.68.30 did work.

The Diaghead can now be seen with the IP address of 192.168.68.1 in the config screen.

Use the same IP address in SSS as well and the interface IP address is again 192.168.68.1.

Now it seems to work fine I will now try it properly on the car tonight and let you know how it goes.

That's unusual, but then again, the majority of guides are based on/assume that it is easyDIS you are starting with.

There are multiple v57's about, as people sometimes realise when they can't find the right UNIX login password for behind the scenes changes, so sometimes you need to do things differently to other people.

Over the weekend I will be able to check it better whilst doing some work on the car as well.

Got a few jobs to do which are the Inlet manifold to replace (from Hereford BMW), replace the vacuum hoses and change the oil and filters including the bogroll one for a vortex.

Should be able to clear the EGR fault to occurs due to the split in the inlet manifold.

Well I got DISv47 to work on laptop OK, well it did the connection test fine and gave me the details of the modules fitted.

Now to find some instructions on its use. Need to change the printer for a start s that I can print to my wireless printer whilst sat outside the flat.

Thanks for all the helpful posts on here that got me this far.

There is a printer guide about, but it prints to a PDF (which you can then print anyway)

I got mine set up a couple of times, but it would only work for a short while. Once I switched the machine off, it wouldn't connect properly again when running later.
