yes it is i keep trying different things that many i don't really know where i am now but i have just reinstalled the rs232 i think i first uninstalled then put in the mini cd again and copied everything the main problem seems to be i need to connect to com port 1 but i cant find it in the device manager the only thing coming up when i click the + next to ports is printer port (lpt1) however i have just noticed a section saying multi-port serial adapters when i click the plus next to that i get a drop down saying serial multiplexer driver with yellow exclamation mark i must admit i am lost i have the laptop sitting next to me while using my desktop i have just taken a pic of the screen maybe someone will know where i am thanks Chris

Right click on the serial multiplex adaptor, it looks like the driver isn't installed, thats your problem, and goto uninstall. reboot the laptop with the card still in it and it will find it again. All the software to run the card isn't installed you will just have to be patient and keep trying to get it installed until you get rid of the yellow exclamation mark, windows needs the inf file for the com driver installed

refer back to Ronnie's post about installing carsoft. You don't have to have your car plugged in for carsoft to run. just do it in the house and try to reinstall but follow Ronnie's post. after you've install it run it to see if it works, did you get the card driver installed then?

hi i have not updated to sp1 but i have got it working sort of it now connects to the car and even works i changed the clock from 12hr to 24hr sucsessfuly i then saved the results to my documents and went upstairs to connect laptop to printer and when i went to saved documents it tells me windows cannot open it so i then went down to the garage again repeated process again disconnected leaving laptop running took it back to the printer and printed the results which i will attach they look nothing like what was on the screen but i do not know if that is normal i will scan the pages and attach them there are 2 pages for each first i tried to diagnose my abs because the light is on probably wheel sensor and the second was a total diagnosis unfortunately with all the running about they are not in order but hopefully someone can make sense of them any way at least we are moving in the right direction it would be very useful if someone could tell me how to access the saved files in my documents thanks everyone chris
