I am looking to buy diagnostics tools for my 318i SE, 2002. I was going to buy generic ODB2 one from ebay.

I have been told by a ebay dealer that he has a BMW specific one called B100. He told be they can't sell it on ebay for copyright reasons. I have found this product on google. It has 2 led display reading similar to Peake model.

I have been told that B100 also reads original BMW factory codes and not the generic codes.

    Can anyone confirm this.

The B100 costs £30. It uses exactly the same code table as Peakes. So when you get the trouble code it will be proper BMW codes.

Fair enough...could be like aftermarket sensors though...looks all good on the price yet doesn't work to well when tried...However it may be a bargain find..Probably best if someone who has one could comment

I don't want to step on anyone's toes here as I'm still a newbie, but I buy stuff from China quite regularly and if the mods approved and there was enough interest I could try and sort out a group buy of these direct from China?

I would avoid that reader. Chinese copies are not worth the hassle especially when the codes are for US cars and not Euro models.

I am searching for a reasonable priced code reader/reset tool as my ECU light is on after replacing one of my Coils on 318 coupe 54 plate! I have searched b100 on ebay but found none, what is the actual device called? Or can anyone recommend a decent diagnostic tool. I had a VAG one for my last Audi, would such a tool work on BMW??
    Help

    Thank you
