Looks like they've reverse engineered the available-to-torrent-on-the-web INPA/SSS and are charging for it. I bet they will have BMW onto them pretty quickly for copyright infringement.

I've got this cable. It's a total different kettle of fish compared to INPA or SSS. It's their own work, just like Carsoft. Much better monitoring than INPA and you can send your fault logs to them for further diagnosis. Their cables are VIN specific...unless you obtain the pro version.

I'm surprised by that. The commands they are sending and reports they are receiving will be in BMW's own diagnostics language D2. I don't doubt BMW has put copyright on their Intellectual Property.

    Compare this

    With this.

I'd say it's just a different skin over the same data.

They probably have an agreement with BMW, possibly buying some sort of license from them. I would think they have an understanding about law suits, especially being an American based company

Pretty much similar to a CAN cable, but flip side shows the programmable Atmega holding the VIN data.

Shame they didn't go the last step and add a switch to route data to the L line based on DTR, to make it E36 compatible. Would have shipped a load more units to E36/Z3 owners I think.
