I am using Ediabas 6.4.3, Inpa 4.4.7 and ADS interface on IBM T30 laptop with serial port and
I am experiencing the following 2 problems:-

    1) When trying to read codes in DME i get, SYS-0002 ecu object not found and then control unit DM33S501,DM33M301 not found.

    2) The files DM33S501.PRG and DM33M301.PRG are in c:\ediabas\ecu The file DME338K2.IPO is in c:\INPA\SGDAT

When I am trying to access the airbag and central locking modules I get IFH-0009 not found or not responding.

I am able to access the rest of the modules ABS, VNC, instrument cluster and central body electrics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll probably need the ADS interface, as the diagnostic line was split into two sides, and you can only read on one of those sides.

I am using this ADS interface .

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

In the C:\EDIABAS-6.4.3-full\archive folder there is no SGBD_E36 WinRAR file, but there are SGBD files for the E46, E39 etc. Could this be my problem and if so where would i get the E36 file from?

What folder should these files be in, I can have a look and see if I have them too.

After doing a bit of research it would appear there may not be any files actually missing as there seems to be other people with early E36s(years 94,95,96) experiencing the same problem.
If anybody can suggest a solution to this problem that would be greatly appreciated.

Another "INPA not working, help!" thread (Data transmission to control unit disturbed) - ADS interface

Have a read through that, and there should be some files to download too.
Your ECUs are of the same family, M3.3 for the S50, and M3.3.1 for the 325.

The extra .1 on the end is for the internal vanos control.

read this i think you could have a similar issue, the solution is in the end pages, FAL wrote and uploaded a modified folder INPA fix,i think its to do with INPA likes to check the EWS before proceeding but early cars didn't have EWS...

I've heard of quite a few people being unable to connect to the ecu on the M3 3.0.

Will be very interested to hear what Fal has to say.

    Hello Ian,
I've given M3Mac a couple of "rough-draft" DME 3.3 test files and changed his E36 configuration file to run them, when he gets a chance. Should be able to narrow-down the exact problem, in the next few days.
