I would be most obliged if anybody could help me with this for my 2008 E60.......

I have installed latest VMware, DIS v57 and SSS v41 to my laptop running windows 7. The VMware virtual machine then runs everything on Win XP and the software seems to be ok when loaded.

I have connected the K+DCAN usb cable and followed set up instructions to operate as com 1. The orange LED lights up when either connected to usb port or the OBD port in the car.

My problem is that the software does not recognise the K+DCAN cable as an interface. When I open Progman and click administration, the interface is blank. Similarly when I open DIS / Administration / Diagnostic Head field is blank.

I could be so close but...............

    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

Have you got INPA working first?

Also, I wouldn't trust SSS 41, it's a home made concoction as the last version that exists was V32.

OK, DIS needs INPA installed, there are parts of it which would be in the genuine BMW diagnostic head, so step one is get INPA installed and working, and then try again with DIS.

    Hi guys!
Desperate for help, as I've have had nearly punched the laptop on the face!
I have bought this cable, INAPA and etc all working, DIS is working, but sss or progman is not working properly.
When acquiring the VO ends with a message about the need of using an ops or opps bla bla bla...
I have intalled the "changes.iso" with no avail, I found a sort of version 2 of the changes.iso, I will try does, in the mean time, I'm missing something?

I think there might be a different xxx.iso which makes the SSS think it has an OPS head plugged in, and not a DK yellow head.

Try switching it in the diaghead emulator, that has an option to make it show as OPS in DIS at least, it might work in SSS too.

Thank you for the quick reply... would you know the name or where to find that xxxx.iso?
None of the tutorials suggest to emulate before start sss, but I will try that...
The ops head is cheaper than the opps, (clone obviously!), but it still cost over £200 :-(
Because if I can't get this running that it might be the next route...

They are about in the diagnostic software section on bimmerforums.com, it might be the "changes by xdrive" version, but I'm not sure.
The threads have got very long and the useful parts can be deeply buried in there.

Finally managed to get it working, and to test it, I have successefully enconding the mirrors to fold and unfold when the car is locked and unlocked...
I had to use the diag head emulator and change the type of head from GT1 to opps... however anyware this is suggested...
