Hi sorry for the newbie question if it's been answered before but I just got confused reading so many threads.

I have a 2006 320D, out of warranty. Airbag light came on last month, took it to dealer and the checked wiring to passenger airbag, found no fault and reset error. Told me if it keeps happening that the fault is internal to the airbag and it should be replaced.

A month later and it has happened again. I just want to get the fault cleared again but don't want to go to the dealer. I could try an independent dealer but if it happens again a few times what is the cheapest DIY way to reset it?

What is the minimum hardware and software I need to do this myself, and what would it cost? I'm not bothered about additional functionality.

The only thing I can think off which is BMW dedicated is Carsoft Ultimate. There is also a generic code reader/reset tool from Autel, but costs around £200.

Peake have an srs reset tool, but i've just had a look, and it says only until 2002 cars.

Carsoft or this are your options, neither are particularly cheap. http://www.mavericktechnology.co.uk/...w-enthusiast-i
