    Nope, OBD2 readers will only work on 2001+ petrol, and 2004+ diesel BMWs,
    Some earlier cars are supported, but it's very hit and miss.

    Don't worry, an OBD2 code reader will work on a large proportion of cars since 1996, just not BMW. After 2004, every car certainly is required to work with them.

    For BMW specific stuff, you'll have carsoft, Peake, and maybe a few others.
