Wonder if you learned members can help me ,I drive a 2004 525d E60, the air bag warning light is on.
I have installed INPA which seems to partially work on certain functions but not on air bags .

    The fault that shows is;-

    Requested Control Unit;
    ASM60/V3.00,ACSM85/V3.00 ACSM2/V1.00 not found.
    Control unit found
    SGM-60-2
    Programme will be stopped.

I also get a fault on certain functions;-

    Versions do not match
    Malfunction possible

    SGBD version :5.00 (in Inpa)
    SGBD version:12.000
    INPA version:1.070

    Select E60 V1.29

Any help will ge gratefully appreciated.

SGM_60_2 = SAFETY INFORMATION MODULE (GATEWAY)

Have a look in C:\Ediabas\ECU and check that you have SGM_60_2.prg and D_SIM.grp, then check in C:\EC-APPS\INPA\SGDAT that you have SIM.ipo - if not, let me know. This is an easy fix.

This is just telling you that the SGBD (ECU description file) version, is different that what INPA expected. It's nothing to be concerned about.

Go into C:\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT and swap your E60.ENG file for this one. Your looking to use Safety Information Module (SIM).

Okay, well i'm happy to help you fix this. Run INPA again and try the SIM module again. Once the error has occured, have a look in C:\EC-APPS\INPA\BIN for INPA.ERR and let me know what it says.

Hi Guys ,apologies for the delay in replying ,been in Barcelona watching ftb and sunning myself.
Anyway tried opening Inpa and now whenever I click on any function button , 'error compiling script file' warning appears
    and can't get any further.
Located INPA.ERR file in EC-APPD\INPA\BIN as you suggested FAL but Windows doesn't recognise the file type so I can't open it.

I managed to get INPA working, of sorts, half in German and various other languages but enough to get by.
I completely gave up with DIS, it seemed far too unstable to work with.

In the end I gave this site a punt

BMW Diagnostic Cable « « BMW Cable Diagnostic BMW Cable Diagnostic

£29.99 for the cable and software.

One click install for all items (INPA, DIS, Progman, TIS, NCS Expert) and it all worked.
No faffing about with ports and FiFo buffers, no modifying environment variables, no copying and moving files, no modifying .ini files, nothing. Just click Install, reboot and run the thing.

It did take a while to install but it is unattended, nothing to tweak, the whole thing works, in English.

This aint spam, it works on my 2004 E60 exactly as described above.
