    Hi All

When the snow hit the other week i 'bashed' a curb, bending my rear lower control arm and knocking my alignment out. I've since replaced the control arm and had 4 wheel alignment carried out. However during all this the dreaded 'Steering angle sensor not plausible' error and disabling my TC/DSC/ABS.

I retrieved the fault code using INPA, I also took a screen shot of the 'read DSC sensors' which is below:

    Untitled.jpg

my question is what is the 'offset steering angle sensor' that looks 'bad'? Does this look like something that can be resolved with a re-calibration of the sensor, using DIS (which i can't currently get working)?

    Thanks
    Darren

    Is your DSC light on?
Is your steering wheel straight when you drive straight?

Yeah the DSC and Handbrake light remain on all the time.

The steering wheel is slightly to the left when driving straight. if i put it straight the car turns slightly to the right. I'm trying to work out why it's doing this.

Sounds to me like you are still having some suspension issue.
Go to another place to get a second opinion.

I'm taking it back to the same place to get them to look again, and hopefully look at the suspension/bushes too.

As a side note, I have now finally managed to get DIS working, however when I go to re-calibrate the steering sensor it Won't let me, any ideas why not?

This is where i get to, the arrow isn't highlighted to move on:

Ive got the same problem with it being grey'd out in DIS and I cant find it in INPA. Did you manage to reset it? I have an error for steering angle sensor and want to try and recalibrate it before I replace it.

sorry never found a way to reset it. I took my car back to the alignment centre and they managed to get the steering within the limits of the sensor which eventually cleared the error by itself. My car still pulls to the left slightly!!

I used INPA to 'watch' the angle sensor reading live whilst they tracked it.

although, come to think of it, i wonder if the sensor has to read the steering as 'in limit' prior to letting you re-calibrate?

is your car tracking straight and your steering wheel straight when driving straight?

what do you get when you read the steering sensor in INPA?
