    Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and after browsing the site for a while, i did find some error codes but they would say the ones i've been looking for, so any help would be appreciated.

The Error codes i got from my local garage are :

    P2776
    P278A

and this is for my 2002 Registered BMW E46 318i

Ive been in a minor accident and since then the Temperature guage in the dashboard went off the hook. It continuously displays temperature of -40 C to +50 C outside the car. It also emits a high pitched Beep from going to +50 from -40. Other than that there are no warning lights.

My BM now shivers a little bit as well. I wonder now, if these problems are connected.

    Thanks in advance.

P2776 = Transmission gear selection switch, upshift - circuit low (dunno what this means in layman's terms?)

think thats generic OBD autobox issues.. they are prolly BMW specific codes..

well the bonnet and front bumper have been replaced but for some reason the temp sensor was unplugged, funny isnt it? anyway it does make no difference plugged or not,i guess its just damaged and i need a new one which wouldnt be a problem if diagnostic tests had not said that error codes.
