Hello, I finally took the plunge and bought myself a Peake Research code reader, great bit of kit, very easy to use with a very comprehensive code book..... but

Where to go once you have the codes, I've got a BMW CD manual but can't get it to work as I have Vista Laptop (tried the retro compatability thing, no joy) ditching that software for XP next week.

    So, here we are,

No power almost always from cold, after 5-10mins of driving power returns (or half an hour on the motorway), this can occur also when the car is switched off, for say 15mins then turned on and driven again.

Fault finding so far, clear codes, drive from cold until warm and then, when power returns, stop the car, read codes... as follows, Table 52 c1260 (fuel pressure monitoring) and intermittantly, Table 52 c3505 (glow device).

Clear codes (at a time, as above, when the car has full power) drive away, stop, read codes.... would you believe? all codes clear!

Do the whole lot a again, all codes return, and clear as above.

I have changed the fuel pump relay for a new one, there are 4 of the same light green ones, with the same part number, behind the glove box, I've swapped all of them, just in case I picked the wrong one, no joy.

What is the navy blue relay for, located in the sealed container, with the ECU?, in front of the windscreen LHS?

THE MAIN QUESTION, where to go from here, c1260??

    Help... please

    Thx Kevin.

You have got to stop posting this query elsewhere...once is enough. Your next step is to look at the pressure regulator and the navy blue relay is for the reverse light in autos or SMG box. You have neither, so I'm guessing you are referring to the other blue relay which is for the DME.
