    I don't think so. I think if you try to open the COM port and it fails to open then you have an issue. I don't recall if you can actually talk to the car. Unlikely. Opening the COM port tests all your hardware up tot the 16 pin connector.

    Since the error message you have is telling you that it has found and identified a module, I think your HW and SW is working, but you are trying to access an ECU that is not the correct type.

    Right all sorted, apart from a lot of modules that I would expect to work display this:




    And this one which is a bit worrying..any ideas about this ?

    Don't worry about the 2nd error, I've read an explanation why it pops up but can't remember exactly what it is other than its ok,
    I've had it for years without issue

    Can you please list what modules are and are not working; whether the car has a 20 pin socket under the bonnet; how you are connecting to the car and your settings in OBD.ini and EDIABAS.ini.
