    Folks

Sorry if this is in the wring section but just a quick one. Am I right in saying that many INPA cables now hve the interface built into them so you dont need an interface box like I have for carsoft.

If so can anyone recommend a place to purchase for reasonable price

If not is there a specific interface box that is compatible

No interface box is required for Inpa, it's just the cables.

Might sound strange but I got a VAG COM Lead from T'bay, one of THESE.

    Works a treat

I have done the same but there are a few limitations.

Did that work straight off for you and can you communicate with all modules?

A vagcom lead will work but will need modifying to communicate with an E46. You need to check what version of the FTDI chip you have in the lead and then you will need to do a spot of soldering. Then depending on how much modification you did you will need to modify the obd.ini to use USB and possibly turn off the battery check.

I've always got all me leads from http://www.one-stop-factory.com. The Inpa lead is about £40 from there.

It did work straight away but it still throws an incompatibility error when connected?
It still reads ok and resets various codes, TBH basic functions is all I'll use it for.
