Cool, thanks mucho! However, my E46 has got the older round connector, (caught a couple of garages out before when they tried to connect OBDII to the car). Would that not suggest that the listing I'm watching would be suitable?

Good info cheers. So maybe you can clear something else up for me. I've read that the 20 pin to 16 pin adapters don't work, especially when eventually connecting to the computer by USB? What I'm actually looking for is a 20pin to serial cable with 1.4 software?

Thanks again.
C.

The 20 to 16 pin connectors work fine, it might be echos of people taking about USB INPA leads, which aren't "ADS" which is an old format of the 20 pin plug needed.

This gets compressed to "ADS" cars wanting a serial interface, but if the descriptions are both correct, either version will work.
