I have a question noone was able to answer so far.
Since a bough the car three months ago, i was trying to get it back to shape which included getting the SES light off. It only comes on with the key in position 2 and goes off as soon as the engine is started.
Having hooked the car up on INPA, it showed two fault codes stored in error memory - one concerning the heated thermostat and one the exhaust cam sensor. Now i have changed the thermostat and today, i changed the exhaust cam sensor (which,BTW, is ridiculously expensive for the little thing it is) believing id get rid of the SES light.
After clearing the error memory, turning the car on and off, the codes dod not come back - not even after driving the car around. So i beleive the thermostat and exhaust cam problems are solved. The problem is, the SES light still comes on and wont turn off unless I start the engine.
I checked the error memories of other modules in the car, there are no other faults stored anywhere (tranny, ASC, airbag, ...).
What do I do to get the SES to go off?
One thing i can think of that could cause the liht to stay on are the faults stored in the thing INPA calls the Shadow Memory - what is that memory good for? I cant seem to be able to erase it and the faults stored make little sense as some of them are related to faults in components my car doesnt have (like the secondary air system) These are the codes from the shadow memory.
So again - what do I do?
133 - SIgnal CAn ASC 3
52 - activate solenoid valve exhaust flap
35 - activate relay secondary air pump
62 - activate solenoind valve seconday air
126 - activate solenoid valve tank leak diagnostic pump
127 - actiavte solenoid valve sucking jet pump
50 - activate solenoid valve fuel circulation switch
all these faults have a frequency of 0 and are described as not present at tne moment.
Besides the light being on, the car runs perfectly, no idle problems, no power loss no nothing.
