Hi all, firstly sorry to the mods if this is in the wrong section, was unsure if it should be in an electricial section even though its not a electricial question as such!

I had the emmisions light come on a few eeks ago and had it reset by the AA who gave me a print out and said there were 2 codes, fuel trim bank 2 and O2 range out of limits IIRC - the sheets in the car so I can confirm if required tmorrow.

Now its been ok for approx 1000 miles and its come on again, whilst in 5th gear at 40mph just like when it came on before.

Now how do I reset the light myself without a scanner - obd2?

I left the car for a couple of hours but it was still lit all the time. No loss of power etc. Is it just a case of taking the connections off the battery for 30 mins or so?

Whats the chances of the fault just being the sensor?

    Many Thanks

    Sean

Right, got the codes read and they are P0170 & P0173. Would this be MAF, O2 sensors, air leaks or something else? Would bad fuel do it?

    Codes are : (EOBD trouble codes/fault codes P0100 - P0999)

P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)
P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 2)

As you said it could be an air leak or a MAF sensor problem.
