I'm pretty new to the whole INPA thing but if you can get it read and look at the cyclinder read outs it make give an idea as to which (if any) cyclinder is causing issues, or, as I suspect, it may still be a vacuum issue...
Thanks dude. my car is acting strange, running then wipers slow down in speed, power is draining somehow, lights flicker. when switched off then try to re-start is wont turn over - Need help, I've called AA. what can it be, I have a long journey after 4pm 150 Miles to do! Could it be the battery? its the original BMW 10 years old.

    Can anyone help on this?

PS I've done some short journeys today, does this affect the battery alternator. no lights warnings have stayed on but have flickered. It happened to me a while back, left in Garage for a while, re-started then fine again. what can it be?

Thanks, AA came Friday checked both tested all clear, blip i think with stop start ignition as fast start then drive off, don't like it.

Was ok until Sat day time, driving normal, was about to change to 2nd as slow in traffic no power (as you do sometimes in wrong gear) so changed down, drove quite quick at getting out of a traffic situation, not long after Engine Light pops back up.

Every two days it just pops up! annoying and I've just coil packs replaced - what could it be now?

Wish I could just identify the issue so I can get it resolved.

I'm guessing the AA checked and earth points etc? I can only suggest looking at the throttle, body including the vacuum side etc if you want haven't already. You said you've already changed the Disa valve? Are you still getting the the 171 fault code? Might be an idea state again what exactly is you've had done and tested. I'm kinda in the same position but no real power problems, just got to work through the vacuum lines before changing the out any major parts. Good luck mate.

Not sure they checked the earthy points, I shall ask to check the throttle body and Vacuum side of things. What is a Disa Valve? The code is still the same.
Its a pain, let me know how you get on.
Power is mine is ok, engine slightly louder and power surge is just ever so slight and feels rough although powerful still.

    So far I've have done.....

Coil Packs replaced with Bremi - all 4 (following misfire and juddering hesitant on power effect)
    Breather pipe replaced
    Calibration reset and tested
    Lambda Tested
    Adaptive tested
1 of 3 air pipes have been replaced 18 months ago that had a leak

    BMW M43TU DISA Valve DIY - E46Fanatics

Think about the issues you have before changing the out another expensive part. I'd go with the vacuum pipes first and the crankcase breather pipe and valve. If your car is like mine and getting the on in mileage then a lot of the smaller items pipes etc are probably the due to be replaced. Go onto RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog and look at the two diagrams relating to the vacuum side of the engine. I'm working my way through the smaller items leaving the MAF and DISA valve to last. Good luck man, I'll be try update as I go along.

OK update: Local garage says the MAF is within tolerance however is causing it now and again to pop up. other than a new MAF, does anyone have any other suggestions? and, does anyone know if AA cover MAF on BRC?
