I have the air bag light showing on my dash. The seatbelt warning light however goes out even if someone is in the passenger seat with their seatbelt off. I'm guessing this points to the occupancy sensor but I can't get the soft ware to read the module. Think it needs a serial port connection which I don't have. Anyway on to my main question. If I get it to read the module and switch of "seat occupancy recognition" would this solve the issue and keep the air bag light off?

    Thanks

    Dave

The "put your seat belt on" light is just on a short timer, so there's nothing to be learnt from that.

The issue may still be the passenger seat sensor mat, or some of the seat belt tensioners, and it would need to be connected to for it to be able to be reset.

What do you mean it's on a shot timer? Surely it should be on if people aren't wearing seatbelts?

Nope, it just comes on for 3-4 seconds and goes out.

Oh right I didn't know that. Seems strange really compared to other cars. So basically need to run diagnostics on the air bag module. Tried this with some software but it connects to usb and and can't open the airbag faults or clear them.
