Does anyone know of a relatively cheap but quality obd diagnostic tool and where i could buy one?
I have seen quite a few on ebay and some of the prices seem very good but i have no idea which one i should buy help and advice would be great.

Seems like it might be a good idea to have one as i notice alot of members here own them.

Sorry admin if i have placed this question in the wrong section.

Ebay is confusing as there are many different types, i'm at a loss as to which to buy. How much will a peake tool set me back and does it plug into a laptop?

The Peake readers are handheld scanners. Carsoft or Inpa would be leads that connect to your laptop. However, the versions on Ebay are usually pirated and can be tricky to setup and can damage your car if you tried certain options like coding.

Peake, no messing about just plug it in. However, you would need a separate scanner for the ABS/Airbag.

You are much better off with the BMW specific scanners we have been discussing as you will get more detailed errors.
