I am fitting my TDS 2.5 into a classic car. So all except the engine wiring is disconnected- engine starts runs and appears all OK, but I would like to learn plug in diagnostic having never needed to before. I guess when I work out which tool to buy, and how to read it, I will discover a long list of faults having disconnected ABS, airbags, various body sensors etc, however all engine wiring is complete/ untouched, starts on the button, revs freely, ticks over for long periods fine so hopefully all is well......would like to do a diagnostic to check and then transplant into its new home in case I have inadvertantly removed anything that I should have kept ! (I have kept all standard BMW under bonnet plugs, ecu, loom, and the ews and key are taped together so I can start the engine with a screwdriver prior to grafting the ignition switch onto the classic car ignition switch)
Sooo- for an electrical clutz which simple plug in tool is best for a learner ?
