    As title really.
Can the vanos solenoid on the M50 engines be activated/tested using diagnostic tools?

Cheers, that's what I expected, just needed someone to confirm it.
I've not heard of the solenoids sticking but I want to test mine just out of curiosity, I'm thinking of just supplying 12v to it and seeing if it clicks.

I don't know id you'll hear a click, but you can try unplugging it and switching it at idle, and it'll make a difference in the engine note.
